Better Gemini ("the Extension") is a browser extension that enhances your Google Gemini experience with UI improvements and productivity features. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

In short: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or conversations.

Data Collection

What We DO NOT Collect

Conversations: We never read, store, or transmit your Gemini conversations
Personal Information: No names, emails, or identifying information
Usage Analytics: No tracking, analytics, or telemetry
Browsing History: No monitoring of your browsing activity
Credentials: No access to your Google account credentials

What We Store Locally

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device only using Chrome's built-in storage API:

Feature toggle preferences	Remember which features you've enabled/disabled
Default model selection	Remember your preferred Gemini model
UI preferences	Remember your layout and display preferences

This data:

Never leaves your device
Is not transmitted to any server
Is not accessible to us or any third party
Can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data

Permissions Explained

Permission	Why It's Needed
`activeTab`	To apply UI enhancements to the Gemini page you're viewing
`scripting`	To inject the features (wider layout, shortcuts, etc.) into Gemini
`storage`	To save your preferences locally on your device
`host_permissions`	To run only on Google Gemini pages

Third-Party Services

The Extension does not:

Connect to any third-party services
Include any advertising or tracking SDKs
Send data to any external servers
Use any analytics platforms

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data is protected by your device's security
No data transmission means no risk of interception
No server-side storage means no risk of data breaches on our end

Children's Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
